How to Choose A Home for Growing Family

Searching for a new home as your family expands? With little ones or a baby on the horizon, there’s a lot to think about. But don’t worry—we’ve already done some of the legwork for you!

A Space for Everyone

Are three bedrooms sufficient for your family, or would an extra room be more beneficial? If you have two or more children, having additional space is essential, as there will come a time when each child seeks their own private area away from siblings.

Homes built at Santorini have three to six bedrooms. Our flexible floor plans allow you to transform a room or open space into a home office, or even a makeshift gym. This adaptability enhances your family life, especially when we all spend more time at home balancing work and children’s studies.

Santorini, with its guarded precincts and ample green spaces, offers an ideal environment for children to grow up. Here, you can provide a safe haven for your kids while allowing them to enjoy the outdoors, at your doorstep—an opportunity that many children miss these days.

Well, Santorini is close by to national schools and international schools, Seri Botani International School. All of them being less than 20 minutes away. As for shopping, Santorini is just minutes away from AEON Station 18 and Botani Village. Did we also mention that healthcare facilities, Hospital Seri Botani is just at your doorstep?

New vs Pre-Owned Home

Should I buy a pre-owned home or a brand new one? Which is more ideal for my family?. Here are a few points for you to compare:

Price

New homes generally cost more than pre-owned ones, as they come with warranties and modern features. While you might find discounts or incentives, like stamp duty exemptions or early-bird offers, for new homes, pre-owned homes typically do not offer any discounts.

Warranty

According to the Housing Development Act (HDA), new homes come with a defect liability period of 24 months for individual titles and 36 months for strata titles, starting from the date of vacant possession. During this time, developers are responsible for addressing any issues that arise, giving you recourse for complaints. In contrast, with pre-owned properties, you’re typically on your own for any repairs.

House Choice and Condition
As the first owner, you’ll enjoy the benefit of everything—from the foundation to the fixtures—being in optimal condition. Additionally, you have the freedom to select the type of house, floor plan, and orientation, unlike with older homes, where you must accept what’s already been built.
